IBC Amsterdam: Strong broadcasting presence from Bavaria
The International Broadcasting Convention, or IBC for short, is one of the world's most important trade fairs for film, television and radio productions. The trade fair takes place from 13 to 16 September in Amsterdam – with many Bavarian media professionals from the broadcasting scene. This year, we from XPLR: MEDIA in Bavaria will also be there for the first time and are organising a networking evening where trade fair visitors can make contacts over an after-work drink and finger food.
Get-together organised by XPLR: MEDIA in Bavaria
Between brick houses and canals, the first evening of the IBC can be rounded off particularly well in the ‘Karavaan’ bar. At least we at XPLR: MEDIA in Bavaria think so and would like to invite you to a relaxed networking evening with finger food and drinks in the Amsterdam flair. With the support of Bayerische Medien Technik GmbH (bmt), we look forward to seeing many new and familiar faces from the Bavarian media industry as well as their national and international friends.

At our side event, there will be plenty of opportunity to meet new contacts from the industry and exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. We will also be taking a piece of Bavaria with us to Amsterdam with our new brochure on the topic of broadcasting: in it, our visitors will learn about best cases from the Bavarian broadcasting scene. Thanks to numerous companies and well-known players, the scene is very diverse and lively.
One example is ARRI, the world-famous and leading company in the field of camera systems, which is based in Munich. People such as Tanja Hüther, who works as a streaming expert and Head of ARD Distribution Board at Bayerischer Rundfunk, are also indispensable for the Bavarian broadcasting landscape. Tanja Hüther talks to XPLR: MEDIA in Bavaria about how public broadcasters can remain competitive with the big private streamers and how the streaming habits of Gen Z and Gen alpha will influence the future. Also in the magazine: Mirko Drenger, head of the operator Antenne Deutschland, and Christian Brenner, founder of the software company Radio.Cloud. The two present their radio station Absolut Radio AI – the first radio programme in Germany to be controlled fully automatically around the clock by artificial intelligence.
These and other exciting topics about the Bavarian broadcasting scene are available to read for visitors to our networking event in Amsterdam.
