Networking With XPLR: MEDIA:
Bavaria's Broadcasters at the IBC
The International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) ends today in Amsterdam. For the first time this year, the media location initiative XPLR: MEDIA in Bavaria hosted an after-work event to celebrate the strong Bavarian broadcasting industry. Bavarian, national and international media professionals met for networking in the “Karavaan” bar in the center of Amsterdam.
Strong Bavarian presence at the IBC
For years, IBC has been attracting the strongest international players from the broadcasting and media technology sector to the exhibition and conference in Amsterdam. An important date for numerous Bavarian players, who present and demonstrate their innovations at stands there: Bavaria is at the forefront internationally. For example, camera and film technology manufacturer ARRI, which showcased the latest technologies in moving image production over the four days of the trade fair, or the Radio.cloud platform, which presented its AI applications in the audio exhibition hall. Rhode + Schwarz presented its solutions for cost-effective and efficient data transmission and Couchplay promoted its TV GamesCenter for SmartTVs.
The stands were well attended throughout, but because it is even easier to connect in a relaxed atmosphere after a busy day at the trade fair, XPLR: MEDIA in Bavaria organized a networking event for and with the Bavarian media industry for the first time this year. In the hip district in the center of Amsterdam, between brick houses and canals, the location initiative invited guests to the “Karavaan” bar with the support of Bayerische Medien Technik GmbH (bmt).
Diverse audience and good conversations
Medien.Bayern CEO Stefan Sutor was delighted with the participation of Bavarian as well as national and international visitors at the side event and welcomed guests from RBB, ZDF, WDR, Nielsen, Ateme and HFF Munich, among others: “Bavaria's broadcasting industry is particularly strong and unique thanks to its cultural roots, the balance between public and private broadcasting and its technological innovations.”
The strengths of the Bavarian broadcasting scene were also reflected in a brochure by XPLR: MEDIA in Bavaria, which listed interviews and portraits of relevant Bavarian players and provided an overview of the location. It was diligently taken away by the guests, who spent over four hours exchanging ideas, getting to know each other and toasting a successful trade fair together.
